It was a real effort for lots of enthusiast to finish their cars and get them to Mallory park for this magazine-organised challenge so it was dissapointing when the organisers failed to get any timing results for the sprint course!
This was the car's first incarnation with a tired 530i V8, standard Ford V6 clutch (that slipped) and dodgy paintwork. At this point the car had truly been built for under a grand but the budget went well over this when it came to installing the 740i engine and improving the clutch, brakes and bodywork.
Who forgot to shut the door properly?!
